Acoustic explorations
Started in 2006 at Live365, Radio Molecule's mission has been to freshly encounter and re-discover the vast world of New Music with its roots in classical-modern, avant-garde, world and experimental music.
In offering rotaded shows and news, it supports the creative endeavors of amazing living composers that are producing intelligent, uncompromising, playful, culturally sensitive contemporary symphonic works as well as others that include non traditional instruments, electronics, and voice.
Join us in the exploration of 20th century serial and atonal music, musique concrete, John Cage's chance music, minimalism, field recordings and sound art, Pauline Olivero's deep listening soundscapes from underground caves, just to name a few. Rotated playlists would feature selections of independent music, label collections, women's work, new american composers, New Music you won't find anywhere else.
Works by Sofia Gubaidulina, George Antheil, Elliott Carter, Olivier Messiaen, Henry Cowell, John Cage, Terry Riley, John Adams, Steve Reich, Morton Subotnick, Joan La Barbara, Lesli Dalaba, Shelley Hirsch, Tan Dun, Unsuk Chin, John Zorn, Olivia Block, Robert Ashley, John Kennedy, David Lang, Peter Garland and much more.
